Knig[a] Iōsẏpa prĕmudrago [microform], 7093 [1585].

Copied from a Church Slavic (Russian recension) source, probably Ms. Hil. 281 (the language of the original being Greek). Leaves 257-289b, History of Constantinople. A lengthy and very interesting scribal inscription (apology) is on leaf 290. It contains the date of copying and various remarks about the translation and the difficulties the scribe encountered in locating a text to copy and in understanding many Russian words. He says that he copied and translated from a manuscript which was brought from "the Russian land". He also refers to the place of copying, the Kelion of St. Sava in Karyes, where he lived at that time, mentioning a terrible earthquake which struck the monasteries of Mt. Athos on 18th July in 1585, resulting in much damage and also notes that his name upon becoming a schimonk changed from Grigorīē to Vasilīe. Another later inscription on leaf 1a, anathema by some Athanasios.
